Door catches for furniture
Magnetic catches are well-known to professionals. This solution has a certain number of advantages. Unlike a spring, a magnet does not wear and does not weaken. The door is retained simply by contact. Mechanical adjustment is therefore minimal or even unnecessary. Installation can be very simple, by clicking in, fitting a single screw or tapping with a mallet in the simplest cases. There is a large range of magnetic forces adapted to all cases. IMPORTANCE OF THE GEOMETRY OF THE POLE PIECES CLIP-ON MAGNETS
For mounting on sheet metal or plastic. They fit flush into narrow uprights. Because they are very inexpensive to install, without screws, they are ideal for applications with large production runs. They simply clip into position. Serie F The body is made of white impact polystyrene, and an acetal resin spring acts as a damper and presses the pole pieces forward. This spring disappears when the magnet is clipped into position, holding it place.

ADJUSTABLE MAGNETS FOR SHEET METAL
These components fit into a round hole drilled in the sheet metal. They allow a small amount of mobility, which makes it easy to compensate for any play in the door structure. They are used on metal furniture, electrical panels, boilers, etc. Serie 8 The magnet is associated with a nut and a spring. This can be located either under the metal sheet, in which case the magnet is completely flush, or on the metal sheet: here, it acts as a damper. These models are available in two sizes, C12 and C16, and in two versions: Normal: with a polyamide nut, or Heat: the entire assembly is made of metal and can be used up to 250°C. | Model | A | B | G | H | Photo | | CF 12-8 | 12 | 24 | 17 | 14 | | | CF 16-8 | 16 | 29 | 21,5 | 19,2 | | | C12-8 Ch | 12 | 26 | 16,5 | 14,2 | | | C16-8 Ch | 16 | 32 | 21,5 | 19,5 | | | Attachment. DOOR STOPS
These models are designed for use as door stops in large ships, and can be used for all large panels, gates, grids and doors that need to be firmly retained despite vibrations, drafts or sudden accelerations. They can be seen in public places, on railway or maritime equipment and on machine covers. The body, which is slightly flexible, can compensate certain misalignments. The pole-pieces have an anti-corrosion treatment. The complete catch is supplied with the corresponding strike plate W. Serie 1 For wall attachment. The Compact magnet is mounted in a Neoprene flexible body. | Model | P | B | E | D | Photo | | CF16-1 | 10 | 16 | 34 | 42 | | | CF 22-1 | 20 | 22 | 43 | 54 | | | CF 30-1 | 30 | 30 | 70 | 71,3 | | | Colour. Shim for CF 22-1 In some cases, the C22-1 door stop is not high enough. This shim is used to create a distance between the magnetic face and the wall, in order to obtain a greater gap. Heights: 30 mm.
Serie 2 For floor mounting. The Compact magnet is mounted in a PVC body. Utilisation. Strike plates Round, for a single countersunk-headed screw. The screw head must not protrude from the machined front face. During installation, be careful not to fully tighten the strike plate so that it can compensate any excess play in the door.

"GIANT" CATCHES These models are particularly used for very high door uprights (fitted cupboards, storage furniture), or for closing inspection panels. They use the latest multi-pole magnet techniques, and have a strong attraction power when closed.
Giant 136 In order to make the door catches less bulky and more visually aesthetic, they are made up of two parts: - a black polyamide base that forms a damper, - a black polyamide potted magnet, which is anti-static and unbreakable. Mounting. Lightly screw the base onto the upright, 2 mm from the edge. Clip the magnet in, inserting its grooves from the rear of the base. A light click indicates that it is correctly fitted. Adjust the assembly to its permanent position. To remove the magnet, pull clear the rear part of the base. Tighten the fixing screw; if necessary, add two nails for a more solid mounting. Reinstall the magnet.

Giant 138 This flush-fitting model is particularly suitable for rebated frames. The magnet is enclosed in a treated brass body. No plastic parts are visible.
Mounting. Flush-fitted corner model. Mortise the location of the body, leaving the wings overlapping. Leave space for the screw heads. Secure with four countersunk-headed screws, preferably treated.

MAGNETIC STUDS This range of studs is used for magnetic attraction in an extremely varied range of applications. They consist of a Ferram magnet associated with two fixed zinc pole-pieces. The assembly is potted in black polystyrene. They can be used with a strike plate made of soft iron sheet with a minimum thickness of 1.5 mm, or a Series Q strike plate. Series A and Ks Models designed to be flush-fitted, adhesively bonded or potted. The Series A models are wider and have a stronger attraction from a distance.

The assembly is potted in black polystyrene. They can be used with a strike plate made of soft iron sheet with a minimum thickness of 1.5 mm, or a Series Q strike plate.
SERIES IS These cylindrical magnetic catches are housed in a plastic body. The front face is ground. A grooved surface ensures that the catch is firmly secure in the panel, and a collar ensures that it is correctly located. Mounting. Drill a hole with a diameter based on the hardness of the panel. Insert the magnetic catch by striking it lightly, either with a mallet or (using a protective piece of wood) with a hammer or similar tool. Strike plate. Use a W or Z strike plate with the same (or a higher) number.
